The initial, and primary, purpose of this blog is to discuss issues related to the legacy of slavery that are raised in Katrina Browne’s documentary feature film, Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North, and my book, Inheriting the Trade: A Northern Family Confronts Its Legacy as the Largest Slave-Trading Dynasty in U.S. History.
